Member of Technical Staff - Lead, Storage

Join the Engineering team to design and scale world-class, highly available distributed storage systems that power OpenAI's next wave of AI products. This role is critical in ensuring our foundational data infrastructure can handle massive growth and complex data patterns. Key responsibilities include architecting resilient storage layers, optimizing data ingestion pipelines, and working closely with cross-functional teams to define product requirements. Candidates should possess deep expertise in distributed systems theory, consensus algorithms (like Paxos/Raft), and large-scale database design. Experience with technologies like Cassandra, CockroachDB, or building custom KV stores is highly desirable. This role requires strong system design skills and a passion for solving infrastructure challenges at extreme scale.
