PTS and OTS Job Tests: Pattern, Roll Number Slips and Preparation

Two services, one paper style
PTS and OTS both conduct recruitment tests for government departments and public-sector bodies, and their papers follow the same general-ability recipe: English, general knowledge, math/IQ, Pakistan and Islamic studies, everyday science and computer, plus a post-related portion for technical jobs. Preparing once covers both services.
The advertisement is your syllabus
Both services print the paper composition for each post in the advertisement — how many questions per subject and any post-specific portion. Match your preparation hours to that table instead of guessing.
Roll number slips: pts.org.pk / ots.org.pk
After applying, download your roll number slip from the service’s website by entering your CNIC under the relevant project. The slip shows your test date, time and centre — print it and re-check a day before the test.
No negative marking — finish the paper
PTS and OTS tests usually have no negative marking, so every blank answer is a lost chance. Train yourself to complete all 100 questions in time; educated guessing on the last few is free marks.
