Accountant
Al Faizan Garments, a wholesale apparel distributor, is expanding its finance team and seeks an Accountant to manage daily accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and support management with timely reporting. The role is suited to a detail-oriented candidate with hands-on bookkeeping experience in retail or wholesale environments and familiarity with local tax and compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities: * Maintain day-to-day accounting records including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments using accounting software and spreadsheets. * Prepare and reconcile bank statements, petty cash, and supplier/vendor accounts regularly. * Process supplier invoices, verify supporting documents, and ensure timely payments while maintaining vendor ledgers. * Record and reconcile customer receipts, manage accounts receivable aging, and follow up on overdue balances. * Prepare monthly trial balance, basic financial statements, and assist with month-end close activities. * Calculate and prepare GST/sales tax, VAT (if applicable), and other statutory tax filings; support yearly tax preparations and audits. * Maintain inventory accounting and coordinate with warehouse teams for stock reconciliations. Must-have Skills: * Proven bookkeeping and accounting experience in retail, wholesale, or apparel sectors. * Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, ledgers, journal entries, and trial balance preparation. * Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Tally, Zoho Books, or local alternatives) and MS Excel for reconciliations and reporting. * Familiarity with Pakistan tax rules relevant to sales tax/GST, withholding tax, and statutory filings. * Bank reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable management, and petty cash handling. * Inventory accounting basics and ability to coordinate with warehouse teams for stock reconciliations. * Attention to detail, numeric accuracy, and ability to meet periodic deadlines (monthly, quarterly, annual). * Effective communication skills to liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal teams. * Problem-solving skills to investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
