Software Engineer 2, Managed Gateways

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer 2 to join our core platform team, responsible for managing and enhancing the infrastructure of our mission-critical API Gateways. This role involves deep work in high-throughput systems, focusing on reliability, performance, and scalability across diverse traffic patterns. Key responsibilities include implementing next-generation proxying mechanisms using technologies like eBPF, developing robust microservices in Go, and optimizing resource utilization at the network level. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in distributed systems architecture and has experience handling complex routing logic. You will be instrumental in ensuring that our gateways can handle massive scale while maintaining sub-millisecond latency, contributing directly to Kong's flagship product reliability.
